My Philosophy

I have worked as a clinical social worker and a dance/movement therapist for over 30 years. I consider it an honor to be a part of these two approaches to therapy. I believe in the healing power of the relationship while working with individuals. My theoretical framework is Developmental, with the awareness that one comes into the therapy office with their own story and position to share. I work collaboratively with my clients to assist in their process as it unfolds, develops and evolves. I believe in one’s ability to grow and change throughout life.

My work as a Dance/Movement Therapist has taught me that the relationship between the self and the body are in continuous connection. I work with my clients to become aware of breath and personal rhythm. With these awarenesses one can experience a more open flow as new patterns can emerge. As the therapeutic process continues an individual begins to learn and practice an alternate way of relating to the stresses in their life.

I have worked in a variety of settings, including; schools, hospitals and mental health centers. I work with children, adolescents and adults. I like to include family members in the therapy process whenever necessary.

I believe that everyone has the ability to access their mind and body wisdom. I appreciate the opportunity to work with my clients and consider it a privilege to be a part of one’s journey.
